These days people are working on the go so why not try and make things easier for your customers or clients while they wait! The latest craze has seen tablet chairs come to the fore. With a build in desk in the chairs this will give your reception space an added “wow” factor!
A fresh coat of paint can really brighten up an office space and if you get all hands on desk can be done in an afternoon! Popular colours for 2022 are earthy tones and warm neutrals.
Without doubt the reception desk is the focal point of any waiting room. As the reception desk is most likely the first thing your client/customer will see it is of utmost importance that the desk makes the right impression!
According to designer Jo Blood you should consider the following factors before you buy reception desk furniture.
What role do you need it to fulfil? How many people will be using it at the same time? Does it need to be wheelchair friendly? How many computers, monitors, ‘phones, printers etc. does it need to hold? Do you want computers etc. to be visible to visitors / customers?
If not, you should consider a higher counter. How much storage does it need? What type and size of storage – filing cabinets, shelves etc.? If customers need to sign a “Visitor Book” then the counter needs to be at a higher level so they can lean on it. Will it get a lot of use from visitors / customers? If yes, then consider the construction material, especially the plinth.
