The Ultimate Office Chair Part 2

Welcome to the second blog in our series on “The Ultimate Office Chair” featuring the ever popular Herman Miller Aeron Chair. I hope you found our first blog on using the forward tilt lever helpful! Today, I will be taking you through the second of five key features of the Herman Miller Aeron chair, that being, adjusting the seat height.

Where is the lever for adjusting seat height on my Herman Miller Aeron Chair?

The seat height lever is found on the right hand side of the Aeron chair. It is paddle shaped.

How do I get the correct seat height?

Start with the seat at its highest setting. Engage the seat height adjuster lever until your legs and feet are comfortable. Ideally you want your feet to rest flat on the ground. The back of your knees should be at an open angle 90 degrees or more.

Does seat height always remain the same no matter what activity I am doing?

No. The seat height should be adjusted based on what you’re doing. For example in our last blog seat height was adjusted when forward tilt was engaged and then returned to its original position after the task was completed.

Any other information?

Having an ergonomic chair is a good investment not only is it helpful in creating an ergonomically correct workspace but it also aids in correct posture when seated.
